- Before engaging in conversation, dump what’s in your brain onto paper. It will lighten the cognitive load.
- Put away cell phones and turn off or close your computer screen.
- Get good at being aware when your mind starts to wander….look a green paper clip, huh, you don’t see that everyday… and bring it back to the moment at hand. Presence exercises can help.
