Giving feedback to your manager can be challenging, but is necessary. Here are three tips for giving feedback up.
1. First things first, to what extent do you and your manager have a trusting relationship? If you don’t have trust work on that first before proceeding to step 2.
2. Be invited or ask to give the feedback before jumping in.
3. Give feedforward instead of feedback. Feedforward focuses on what they can do differently next time instead of looking at what they did wrong in the past. It just feels better!
